Speare Memorial Hospital participates in 340B Drug Pricing Program to reduce costs and increase funding

In an era of skyrocketing drug prices, Speare Memorial Hospital joined the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program last year to reduce its drug costs to generate savings to fund other programs and services. The savings from the drug pricing program allow Speare to provide a range of health services and programs that respond to the unique needs of our community.

To date, Speare has invested its estimated $445,000 in net savings to improve patient care by providing more charity and uncompensated care and offering services that promote health, wellness, and disease prevention, community education, pediatric, obstetric, and primary care, and other beneficial programs that may not be viable without this 340B Drug Pricing Program.
