Every April since 1974 National Volunteer Week has been celebrated to recognize volunteers and foster a culture of service. This program, established by Points of Light in 1974, is about inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities, discovering and actively demonstrating their collective power to make a difference.
This year Chris Fenn, Student and Volunteer Services Coordinator, celebrated Speare Memorial Hospital’s many volunteers who support patients and staff every day with a thank you luncheon on Thursday, April 23rd at the Rumney Rocks Bistro.
