Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists work with patients to maximize independence in their self-care, work and/or leisure activities by aiding in the prevention of the onset of disabilities, identifying existing functional problems and raising the performance of patients to the highest practical levels.

Outpatient occupational therapy
includes the evaluation and treatment of patients with musculo-skeletal and neurological impairments utilizing therapeutic exercise, advanced soft tissue techniques, custom splint fabrication, heat and cold, modalities and function-based home exercise programs and education. Occupational therapists are specially trained in restorative and preventive care.

Specialty programs include: comprehensive hand therapy, sports therapy for the upper extremity, lymphedema management, “Keeping Ahead of Dementia”, and “Coping with Low Vision”.

Inpatient occupational therapists
work with patients and their families to create individualized treatment plans to help them reach their highest level of independence. Patients receiving occupational therapy services may have treatments working on activities of daily living (e.g., bathing and dressing) and functional mobility.
