Department Services
For any procedures scheduled at Speare Radiology Department- instructions for preparation will be provided at the time the appointment is scheduled.  Please call the Radiology Reception desk at 238-2232 during normal business hours.  Some scans such as CT scans, ultrasound, and barium studies, may require preparation.  The department will provide instructions for fasting, or preparation for exams that will

Radiology examinations require an order from a physician or provider.  The physician office can schedule your appointment, but if you schedule your own appointment, please bring the physician order with you to the Radiology Department.

General Radiography

• Digital fluoroscopy
• Computed Radiography-scheduled for install in the spring/early summer of 2008

Ultrasound Services - two scan rooms

• OB/GYN
• Abdomen
• Small Parts-Breast, thyroid, scrotum, etc...
• Vascular-Carotid, DVT, Aorta

Bone Density

• Hologic DEXA equipment

CAT Scan (Computed Tomography)

• Philips MDCT
• 3D

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Services provided by American Health Centers

• 1.5 Tesla Magnet
• Variety of Body and Neuro Studies performed

Nuclear Medicine

• American Health Centers
• Cardiac and general nuclear medicine services performed

Mammography Services

• ACR Certified facility (American College of Radiology)
• Registered Mammography staff
• Digital Mammography coming late 2008

PACS - Picture Archiving Communication System

Implementation in progress, scheduled for service in September 2008.

Limited Interventional Studies

• Biopsy Procedures using imaging services
• Myelography
• Arthrography
• Drainage procedures.
