Speare Memorial Hospital to Celebrate Grand Re-Opening
with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and a Health & Wellness Fair
 
PLYMOUTH, N.H. --- The community is invited to the grand re-opening of Speare Memorial Hospital on Sunday, November 5 from 1 – 4 p.m. The hospital is celebrating the completion of its $15 million renovation and expansion project with a ribbon cutting and donor recognition ceremony, as well as a Health and Wellness Fair. Formal remarks and the unveiling of the donor recognition wall will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the new east wing main lobby.
 
"We are very grateful for the generous support we received from donors and the community in helping build a ´new´ Speare Memorial Hospital," states SMH President and CEO Michelle McEwen. "The grand re-opening is an opportunity to bring the community together to celebrate our collective success, say thank you, and showcase the new facility by offering free health and wellness information and screenings."
 
The Health & Wellness Fair will feature the following health information services:
  • Blood oxygen levels ~ Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory
  • Body fat, body mass index, and dietary nutrition counseling
  • Colorectal cancer information ~ Oncology
  • Breast health ~ East Wing, provided by Kate Hedberg, MS, ARNP, Plymouth OBGYN
  • Cardiac rehabilitation ~ Cardiac Rehab
  • Cholesterol/glucose screenings ~ Laboratory
  • School Dental Program ~ East Wing
  • School Occupational Therapy ~ East Wing Main Entrance
  • Mobile Gym
  • Skin cancer screenings ~ Oncology, provided by Dr. John Bentwood
  • Social Services, 2nd floor
  • Prescription Assistance
  • Volunteering ~ Front Desk
Additionally, flu shots will be available for $20 and Radiology will be offering bone density testing—pre-registration is required. To pre-register for the bone density test please call 603-238-6468
 
Parking for the grand re-opening and Health & Wellness Fair will be available in the parking lot adjacent to Highland Street and in the east wing main entrance parking lot on Hospital Road.
