SMH´s Diabetes Support Group to Focus on Eye Care
 
PLYMOUTH, N.H. --- The October meeting of the Diabetes Support Group hosted by Speare Memorial Hospital is Monday, October 16 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria. Dr. John Richards, ophthalmologist, with be the featured speaker talking about the importance of regular eye examinations.
 
"Eye sight can be affected by high blood sugar, so regular eye examinations are an important part of a patient´s ongoing diabetes assessment and treatment," says Marie Veselsky, SMH´s certified diabetes educator and coordinator of the support group. "Dr. Richards will give an overview of eye care and symptoms indicating there might be a problem."
 
The Diabetes Support Group is a free program that meets the third Monday of every month. Food and beverages are provided. For more information contact Marie Veselsky at (603) 238-6472.
