Ski Conditioning Program Offered by SMH Rehabilitation Services

| PLYMOUTH, N.H.--- Helping skiers prepare for the upcoming season, or anyone interested in improving their level of physical fitness, is the goal of the Ski Conditioning Program being offered by Speare Memorial Hospital’s Rehabilitation Services. The eight week program begins October 1 with sessions held every Monday and Wednesday from 6 – 7 p.m. |
| Designed by SMH’s physical therapy professionals, the program includes a multi-station circuit of ski specific exercises in a state-of-the-art rehab gym. Functional patterns of movement, balance, agility and aerobic conditioning are emphasized using equipment such as the Biodex Balance System, Body Blade and Skiers Edge Mountain Master. Participants work at their own pace under the guidance of SMH’s Rehabilitation Services staff, and are able to progress at rate that is comfortable to them. |

The complex integration of high level muscle, joint and ligament movements that skiing requires means even recreational skiers need some form of functional training and preparation as the ski season approaches.” |
| The cost of the eight week program is $95, and may be reimbursed by some insurance companies. All sessions will be held in the Rehabilitation Services facility located on the first floor of the Citizen’s Bank Building at 20 Highland St. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
