PLYMOUTH, N.H. --- A temporary assignment with Tenney Mountain Orthopedic Clinic at Speare Memorial Hospital marks Dr. Alan Larimer´s third assignment in New Hampshire since beginning his medical career at Dartmouth Medical School in 1960. Dr. Larimer joins the practice, along with Dr. Kent Kirkland, following the departure of Dr. Paul Scibetta. |
| "Small hospitals are a special favorite of mine," notes Dr. Larimer on his reason for accepting the position at Speare Memorial Hospital. "In this setting you have the opportunity to work together with patients as you address their specific needs.” | |
| T SMH President/CEO Michelle McEwen, FACHE, says, "We are pleased to have Dr. Larimer work with us as we continue to recruit for a full-time orthopedic surgeon. He brings a great deal of experience to the practice, and his approach is a good match for the quality of care our patients expect." | |
| After starting his medical school training at Dartmouth, Dr. Larimer received his degree from Duke University Medical School in Durham, N.C. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. | |
| Dr. Larimer began working as a locum tenens in 1996 after running his own solo practice for 11 years. He says he enjoys the on again/off again schedule as he gets to connect with people from different parts of the country. Alaska, Hawaii, North and South Dakota are among the various locations of his previous assignments, as are Berlin and Littleton. "New Hampshire is incredibility beautiful," Larimer says, “and this was a chance to enjoy it again." | |
| Dr. Larimer is accepting new patients and appointments can be made by calling Tenney Mountain Orthopedics at (603) 536-5803. The office is located in Speare Memorial Hospital across from the Emergency Room at 19 Avery Street in Plymouth. | |
| Speare Memorial Hospital is a 24-hour, acute care, non-profit community hospital and health care provider serving Plymouth and the communities of central New Hampshire for more than a century. | |
