SMH Oncology Department Accepts Donation from Plymouth Elks
| |
| PLYMOUTH, N.H. ---The Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Plymouth Lodge 2312 has presented Speare Memorial Hospital´s Oncology Department with a $500 donation to benefit local cancer survivors. Nurse Director of Oncology Kerry Rockwell accepted the donation from Elks Kevin Lincoln, Amanda Superchi, Jessie Superchi and John Morrill. "The donation was used to assist patients currently undergoing treatment, and they were very excited to receive the gifts and most appreciative of Plymouth Elks for their care and support," notes Rockwell. | ![]() |
| According to Lincoln, the funds were raised at a comedy night benefit last October for cancer support. He says, "It was the first time the Elks had done a cancer fundraiser in support of cancer awareness month, and we wanted to keep the money in the local community, so Plymouth area patients could benefit." Such efforts he explains are in direct support of the Elks´ mission to serve their communities through caring and sharing. | |
| Lincoln also says the Plymouth Elks have formed a Cancer Support Committee that includes him, Wayne Superchi, Amanda Superchi, Jessie Superchi, John Morrill and Joe Horan and are planning another cancer comedy night next October. | |
| Speare Memorial Hospital is a 24-hour, acute care, non-profit community hospital and health care provider serving Plymouth, and the communities of central New Hampshire, for more than a century. | |
