If you are to be admitted on a non-emergency basis, you should arrive at the admission office between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm.
Parking is available at the entrance of the hospital. Your driver may drop you off at the main entrance, but must not leave the car unattended. Please observe all "No Parking" signs.
When you arrive, please go to the receptionist located in the lobby entrance. We will ask you to sign required treatment consent forms and benefit claim forms. All information given us will be held in the strictest confidence.
Bring with you nightclothes, a robe, slippers, toilet articles, and, if you wish, writing and reading materials. Speare Memorial Hospital does not have a gift shop.
Please do not bring more than $5.00 for personal use. Please leave jewelry and other valuables at home. We can not assume responsibility for articles, which remain in your possession.
An identification bracelet, which shows your name and your hospital number, will be given to you upon admission. Asleep or awake, the bracelet allows all that treat you to know exactly who you are. Please do not remove it. Also, please take a minute to verify the information.
We do everything possible to avoid inconveniencing our patients. Please be understanding if an unexpected emergency admission occurs which interrupts your admission process.
After you reach your room, a staff member will advise you about your hospital regime and will ask you for necessary information about your diet, allergies, or other personal concerns that may require special attention. Please feel free to ask any question you may have at this time.
