Community Programs

Speare Memorial Hospital offers a wide variety of educational programs, support groups for those dealing with specific issues, as well as classes to enhance your health and wellness. We will continue to offer programs and services that our community wants and needs.

Living Wills/Advance Medical Directives
An Advance Directive is a Living Will or a Durable Power of Attorney for health care that allows you to give directions about your future medical care. Advance Directives can protect your rights if you become unable to communicate your wishes due to illness or injury. All participants must bring a photo I.D.
Fee: None

Prescription Assistance Program
If you or a family member cannot afford to purchase needed prescription medications our Prescription Assistance Program can help. In most cases, if your household income is below $23,880, have no other outside help for prescription medications and you are a patient of an affiliated physician, you may qualify for free medications. Please see your medical provider for a referral form.

School Dental Program
Speare’s School Dental Program, now in its 5th year, continues to offer preventative and restorative dental services to over 3,000 children, from pre-school to high school, who may otherwise go untreated. The program includes dental screenings, classroom oral health education, dental cleanings, a weekly fluoride rinse program, and case management and referrals for restorative care.
