Community Programs

Speare Memorial Hospital offers a wide variety of educational programs, support groups for those dealing with specific issues, as well as classes to enhance your health and wellness. We will continue to offer programs and services that our community wants and needs.

Living Wills/Advance Medical Directives
An Advance Directive is a Living Will or a Durable Power of Attorney for health care that allows you to give directions about your future medical care. Advance Directives can protect your rights if you become unable to communicate your wishes due to illness or injury. All participants must bring a photo I.D.

Prescription Assistance Program
If you or a family member cannot afford to purchase needed prescription medications our Prescription Assistance Program can help. In most cases, if your household income is below $23,880, have no other outside help for prescription medications and you are a patient of an affiliated physician, you may qualify for free medications. Please see your medical provider for a referral form.

Dental Health Program
Speare’s Dental Health Program began in 1998 to specifically target this community need.  Working in collaboration with School Administrative Unit 48, the Ashland, Lin-wood and Warren School Districts, Plymouth Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine and Plymouth OB/GYN, the Dental Health Program’s services include: free dental screenings and fluoride varnish applications; dental cleanings and sealants to school-aged children on a sliding fee scale, to “at risk” pregnant women and the homeless; restorative care for children who are in pain from decay and infection; and case management and financial assistance are available to those in need.
