Dr. Merrithew is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with an additional certification in Geriatrics. After earning both his bachelor’s and doctorate from Boston University, he completed his residency at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston. Of particular clinical interest to Dr. Merrithew is helping patients with chronic disease management, including diabetes, COPD, and dementia.
Dr. Watto brings a broad mix of medical experience to the practice, having spent the past 21 and a half years in the Army. He began his career as a cadet in Army ROTC at Pennsylvania State University, or Penn State, where he graduated with his bachelor’s. Eight years later he went to medical school at Kansas City University in Kansas City, Missouri, where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) Medicine Degree. He completed a residency in family medicine at Fort Benning, Georgia, and later earned a master’s in public health from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Other highlights of his Army career include serving with an airborne brigade at Fort Richardson, Alaska, a 14 month deployment to Iraq with that organization, and providing medical coverage for the All Army Boxing Championships in Arizona.
Greg Englund, APRN
Greg Englund, APRN, earned a bachelor’s in nursing at Southern Vermont College and received his Master of Science in Family Practice from the University of Colorado. Greg has emergency medicine and urgent care experience and will be at Speare Primary Care one day a week. Greg was raised in New Hampshire and lives in Plymouth with his wife and two children.
Vanessa Hahn, APRN
Vanessa is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her bachelor’s in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Naperville, Ill., and holds a master’s from Massachusetts’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences University. Originally from Maine, Vanessa says she loves the outdoors. It was central New Hampshire’s natural environment that interested her in the position at Speare Primary Care.
Anne Thatcher, MS, APRN, FNP-C
Anne Thatcher’s career has included serving patients in emergency medicine, occupational medicine and primary care. She earned her bachelor’s in nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received her master’s from the University of New Hampshire, becoming a family nurse practicioner. She also serves as faculty for the UNH Graduate Nurse Practitioner Program.
Brittania McDonald, PA-C
Having worked as the internal medicine physician assistant at Tenney Mountain Internal Medicine, Brittania McDonald received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Colorado State University. She also received an MS PA from the University of New England College of Health Professions in Maine. Ms. McDonald is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
