Position:  Nurse Director
Department:  Surgical Services
Date:  12/9/14
Status:  40 hours/week; Monday through Friday days

Description:  Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Directors of Nursing Departments have 24/7 accountability for the quality of care provided to the patients within their department.  Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.  Minimum of 5 years clinical experience within the specialty with demonstration of progressive leadership skills required.  Previous director or manager experience preferred.  Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire.  Must have current BLS certification (adult, child, and infant).  ACLS certification required.  Active member in professional organization required.  Certification in specialty and/or administration preferred.

Status:  1 – 24 hours/week; 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with every other weekend.  2 – 12 hours/week; 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with some weekend rotation.

Description:  The Registered Nurse (RN) demonstrates clinical competence by utilizing the nursing process.  The RN must assess and identify patient problems/needs, establish a plan of care, implement interventions, and evaluate and revise the patient plan of care based on patient progress.  Associates Degree or Diploma in Nursing required.  Bachelor of Nursing preferred.  Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire.  Must have current BLS certification (adult, child, and infant).  ACLS preferred; required within 12 months of hire.  ENPC and TNCC preferred.  Certification in a field of Nursing preferred.

Department:  Intensive Care Unit

Position:  Sonographer/Ultrasound
Department:  Radiology
Date:  4/14/15
Status:  40 hours/week; days with weekend and holiday on-call rotation

Description:  The Sonographer performs all functions essential for the completion of high quality diagnostic sonograms, limited vascular sonograms and other related tests as ordered by the physician or practitioner.  The Sonographer may also work in other areas of the Radiology Department based on departmental need.  Graduate from an approved AMA program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required (new grads eligible).  Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Vascular Sonography education and training preferred.  3 to 5 years progressively responsible experience in ultrasound with experience in vascular, OB/GYN, abdominal, small parts, Pelvis, Abdomen, some vascular examinations (DVT, Carotids, Aorta etc.) preferred.  Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (or registry eligible) required.  Registry in OBGYN, Abdomen, Physics, should be accomplished within one year from date of hire. Vascular Sonography experience and pursue RVS required.  CPR/BLS certification required to be maintained.  Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS, Vascular Sonography Experience (RVS) and RVS Certification preferred.


Position:  Medical Assistant
Department:  Speare Primary Care
Date:  4/29/15
Status:  36 hours/week; Monday through Friday days

Description:  The primary responsibility of the Medical Assistant is to assist the physician with direct patient care and administrative tasks that provide a steady daily workflow for the physician and office.  This position requires the Medical Assistant to follow directions as well as to exercise independent judgment that contributes to a quality, caring and efficient work environment.  High School graduate with extended education in medical assisting required.  Minimum 5 years experience in a medical office preferred.  Current Certified or Registered Medical or Nurse Assistant designation from the State of New Hampshire preferred.

Department:  Marketing and Community Relations

Description:  The Director of Marketing and Community Relations is responsible for developing and executing a marketing and communications strategy that will develop top of mind awareness of Speare Memorial Hospital; ultimately increasing brand awareness and choice of Speare and its associated physician practices by our community residents and visitors.  The position is also responsible for developing and coordinating efforts to engage Speare Memorial Hospital, community businesses, other health related organizations and residents in an effort to improve the health status of our community members.  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or Communications/Public Relations required.  Master’s Degree in Business, Communications/Public Relations or Health Administration preferred.  3 to 5 years experience in communications, marketing and/or administration required; 10+ years, including supervisory experience preferred.


Position:  Patient Financial Specialist (2 positions)
Department:  Revenue Cycle Services
Date:  6/30/15
Status:  1 – 40 hours/week; Monday through Friday days. 2 – 24 hours/week.

Description:  Submits timely electronic and paper claims to third party payers in order to receive prompt payment from the payers.  Responds to questions from patients and/or third party payers relative to services or claims provided by the hospital.  Maintains Accounts Receivable within or below the state average benchmarks.  Communicates with third party payers on a daily basis. High school Graduate or equivalent required.  Two years post-secondary education in accounting or business administration preferred.  Strong work experience with third party carriers required.  Two years or more in healthcare medical billing or medical office setting.

Description:  The Director of Patient Care Management is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all social services, case management, and utilization review within Speare Memorial Hospital (SMH).  The director also oversees the Prescription Assistance Program. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Social Work required; Nursing preferred.  Masters degree in relevant field preferred.  Minimum 3 years relevant experience required.  Previous experience in a supervisory/leadership role preferred.  Experience with infection prevention, case management, utilization review, and/or social work preferred.  Certification in a relevant field preferred.


Position:  Staff Accountant
Department:  Finance
Date:  7/23/15
Status:  40 hours/week; Monday through Friday days

Description:  Responsible for guiding staff in general accounting processes.  Prepares monthly Speare Memorial Hospital, Boulder Point and Speare Hospital Network financial statements for review.  Reviews and reconciles General Ledger accounts.   Assists with the budgeting process, tax return reports, cost report documents and external audit.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.  Minimum 5 years accounting experience required.

Hours:  40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, Salaried position. Some travel is required.

Duties:  Summary:  Responsible for implementation, ongoing management and strategic growth of the program: outpatient Wound Care Center, HBO, inpatient and outreach. Oversees day to day program operations and is responsible for budgeting, revenue and cost management, reimbursement, quality management, performance improvement, marketing and community education, and human resource management. Responsible for maintaining collaborative and consultative client relationships, program integration within the hospital organization and creating effective working relationships within the company and internal and external to the hospital organization and, ultimately contract retention. Responsible for clinical supervision of nursing staff and direct patient care as needed.

Qualifications:  Registered Nurse with current license. Bachelor’s degree and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred. Previous supervisory experience required. Maintains and demonstrates competency in BLS (Basic Life Support), infections control, safety and all unit required skill review.
