Position:  Medical Assistant

Description:  Fills vacancies at other Speare physician offices to staff daily or short-term needs.  Provides support to physician practices as related to Medical Assistant functions.  Assist Patient Services staff with Electronic Medical Record chart migration and maintenance.  High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Medical terminology and other medical education required.  Certified Medical Assistant preferred.  2 years experience hospital or medical office required; 3+ years experience preferred.  Current Certification in Medical Assisting from American Association of Medical Assisting or HUC certification preferred.


Position:  Nurse Director

Description:  Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Directors of Nursing Departments have 24/7 accountability for the quality of care provided to the patients within their department.  Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.  Minimum of 5 years clinical experience within the specialty with demonstration of progressive leadership skills required.  Previous director or manager experience preferred.  Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of New Hampshire.  Must have current BLS certification (adult, child, and infant).  ACLS certification required.  Active member in professional organization required.  Certification in specialty and/or administration preferred.

Position:  EHR Quality Analyst
Department:  Physician Practices

Description:  The EHR Quality Analyst is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of SMH’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) program.  Goals of the EHR program include successful attestation to Meaningful Use measures, compliance with the Physician Quality Reporting Systems (PQRS) program, Value Based Modifier and other internal and external quality programs.  The EHR Quality Analyst is a subject-matter expert who actively participates in the implementation of quality programs.  The position requires a comprehensive understanding of HITECH rules and regulations, physician office workflow and healthcare information technology.  Under the direction of the Director, the Analyst will work with the Information Technology department and the Physician Practices to ensure program compliance.  Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, finance, information systems, healthcare informatics, healthcare administration or other clinical area required.  3 to 6 years clinical, financial, and/or information technology experience specific to a healthcare setting required.  Experience working with or implementing electronic health records and managing Meaningful Use and/or PQRS projects preferred.


Position:  Licensed Nursing Assistant

Description:  The Licensed Nursing Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care under the immediate direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Completion of a Licensed Nursing Assistant Program required.  Experience in a health care setting required.  Current LNA licensure in the State of New Hampshire and BLS certification (adult, child, and infant) required.

Description:  Receives visitors and/or patients, ascertains their needs, and gathers accurate demographic and billing information.  Prepares patients for proper admission to the hospital by obtaining written consents for treatment and providing necessary information about the hospital.  High school graduate required.  Knowledge of keyboarding and bookkeeping required.  Minimum one year clerical experience preferred.  Prior experience in Patient Registration preferred.  Strong customer service orientation strongly preferred.


Position:  Registered Respiratory Therapist
Department:  Cardiopulmonary
Date:  4/7/15
Status:  72 hours/bi-weekly

Description:  Conducts cardiological and pulmonary tests and respiratory care modalities for the in-patient and out-patient population. Such tests provide data for use in diagnosing heart and lung diseases using electrocardiograph, treadmill, holter monitor and spirometers. In addition is responsible for setting up and operating various oxygen delivery devices, to include ventilator management and respiratory care treatment, evaluation and assessment. Advanced level practitioner.  Graduate of American Medical Association approved School of Respiratory Therapy and successful completion of the Registry Examination required (new grads eligible).  1-3 years of respiratory therapy clinical experience preferred.  New Hampshire State Board of Registration and Medicine Respiratory Therapy Licensure required.  BLS certification required.  ACLS certification preferred.


Position:  Medical Secretary/Receptionist
Department:  Plymouth Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Clinic

Description:  Assume responsibility for all tasks required at the front desk, assisting patients and the physician as needed.  Responsible for check-in and check-out of patients and answering incoming calls and scheduling patient appointments.  High School Graduate required.  Prior experience in a medical office required; 5 years experience in medical office preferred.


Position:  Sonographer/Ultrasound
Department:  Radiology

Description:  The Sonographer performs all functions essential for the completion of high quality diagnostic sonograms, limited vascular sonograms and other related tests as ordered by the physician or practitioner.  The Sonographer may also work in other areas of the Radiology Department based on departmental need.  Graduate from an approved AMA program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required (new grads eligible).  Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Vascular Sonography education and training preferred.  3 to 5 years progressively responsible experience in ultrasound with experience in vascular, OB/GYN, abdominal, small parts, Pelvis, Abdomen, some vascular examinations (DVT, Carotids, Aorta etc.) preferred.  Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (or registry eligible) required.  Registry in OBGYN, Abdomen, Physics, should be accomplished within one year from date of hire. Vascular Sonography experience and pursue RVS required.  CPR/BLS certification required to be maintained.  Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS, Vascular Sonography Experience (RVS) and RVS Certification preferred.


Position:  Central Sterile Technician II

Description:  The Central Sterile Technician II is responsible for identifying, disassembling, decontaminating, inspecting, and processing all reusable supplies and patient care equipment used in the hospital.  High School Graduate or equivalent required.  Experience in a health care setting required; previous experience sterile processing preferred.  Central Sterile Technician certification preferred; certification required within one year of employment.


Position:  Ophthalmic Assistant

Description:  The Ophthalmic Assistant assists the physician in organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities that occur in the ophthalmology environment by performing the assigned technical duties.  High School Graduate required.  Clinical experience in a health care setting preferred.  Previous experience as an ophthalmological technician preferred.  Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification preferred.

Description:  The primary responsibility of the Medical Assistant is to assist the physician with direct patient care and administrative tasks that provide a steady daily workflow for the physician and office.  This position requires the Medical Assistant to follow directions as well as to exercise independent judgment that contributes to a quality, caring and efficient work environment.  High School graduate with extended education in medical assisting required.  Minimum 5 years experience in a medical office preferred.  Current Certified or Registered Medical or Nurse Assistant designation from the State of New Hampshire preferred.

Description:  The Director of Community Relations is responsible for maintaining high name recognition and image of Speare Memorial Hospital with the public, and for developing and coordinating efforts to engage Speare Memorial Hospital, community businesses, other health related organizations and residents in an effort to improve the health status of our community members.  This position is also responsible for enhancing communications both internally and externally.  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or Communications/Public Relations required.  Master’s Degree in Business, Communications/Public Relations or Health Administration preferred.  3 to 5 years experience in communications, marketing and/or administration required; 10+ years, including supervisory experience preferred.

Description:  The Patient Care Technician provides support and assistance in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).  High School Graduate or equivalent required.  Experience in a health care setting required; previous experience in a hospital setting serving the same age/type of patient population preferred.  Must be a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the State of New Hampshire.  Must have current BLS certification (adult, child, and infant).  Certification in COC and BAT within 1 year of hire required.
